Voter Registration

Voter Registration Staff

Voting. It's the American Way. We handle all the details of national, state, and local elections, from operating the polling places throughout the county to tallying up the votes once the polls close.

If you're new to Wood County, you'll need to register -- and that deadline is 21 days before an election. If you've recently moved within Wood County, you can also change your registration here, or at the polls on election day.

Just a Note: You must do this at your new polling place, so call us first so we can direct you to your new precinct.

We're open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and we look forward to helping you. Visit us on the fourth floor of the Courthouse, or call (304) 424-1860.

Important Dates

You may request an Absentee ballot between August 12 and October 29, 2008. Absentee ballots will be mailed out between September 23 and October 30. The returned cancellation postmark must be no later than November 4.

The last date to register to vote or change your party affiliation is October 14.

Early voting starts October 15 and ends on November 1. Early voting will be in the Judge Black Annex on Market Street across from the Blennerhassett Hotel.

National General election day is November 4.

Use this link to complete an Absentee by mail request. This form must be completed and returned to us by October 29.
